Emily is a doctoral student in the Department of Library and Information Science at the Rutgers School of Communication & Information. Her research interests include intellectual freedom and religious censorship.

She was the Associate Director and Reference Librarian at the St. Mark's Library of the General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church in New York City for five years before returning to school.

Emily's most recent publication is a manual on running a small interlibrary loan and document delivery department published by Neal-Schuman.
